Do I need braces?
Your first visit takes approximately 30 minutes. It is an opportunity for us to meet each other, and for us to understand your concerns and goals.
We’ll thoroughly examine your facial features, as well as your teeth, smile and bite. A digital radiograph (OPG) is also taken at this visit to check that you have all the right teeth in all the right places.
If treatment is indicated, we’ll advise when the best time to start would be (sometimes we prefer to monitor growth and development a little longer). We can usually give an indication of what treatment might be required, as well as approximate costs at this visit.

If we have advised the timing is appropriate, and you think orthodontic treatment might be for you, we’ll book you in for “records”.
These photographs and radiographs, together with a 3D scan of your teeth, will provide all the info we need to make a more precise diagnosis and create your individual treatment plan.
These records are given to you along with your written treatment plan. We support your right to obtain a second opinion, as we understand orthodontic treatment is a big investment and want you to be confident in your decision to proceed.
